Results and relationship are entwined in what it is to do business. The bottom line matters.  But the pressure to perform can feel like choosing results over relationship is inevitable at some point. Is that right? Are results and relationship fundamentally at odds? Or could it be that the results we are looking for can be found in a relationship?

A fundamental principle in our models of business, finance and law is that of the rational placement of trust. Where trust is lacking, additional risk is reflected in our pricing mechanisms. What can be said of the rational placing of trust by individuals? And in view of the commitments and demands which are exacted by careers in the City, who or what can be trusted for the integration of meaning and purpose to our work and life?
